The Marucci Cat 9 Connect baseball bat brings together a combination of bleeding edge, ultra-premium aluminum barrel design and construction and a composite handle, resulting in what will go down as next generation two piece bat construction. The Marucci Cat 9 Connect Minus 8 Ounce bat for USSSA is built for the average sized youth baseball player in the 11 to 13 year old range. A lighter version (-10 ounce) is available for younger players or players who need higher bat speed. A heavier version is available in a -5 ounce version for players and power hitters. A composite handle makes this bat a “Hybrid” design. The OLS (Outer Locking System) connection piece uses the stiffest construction material available, so you won’t lose the traditional solid feeling of hitting when hitting, all while the OLS system prevents sting and vibration from ever reaching your hands. The barrel of the -8oz Cat 9 Connect Marruci has a Multi-Variable Wall Design with no rings in the barrel, to give the Cat 9 Connect a larger sweet spot than other aluminum bats.

AZR Alloy is created with a special three stage thermal treatment process. The new AZR alloy gives the hitter a more responsive feel due to a change at the molecular level, giving the Cat 9’s alloy more performance and more durability than the previous model. Exclusive OLS Outer Locking System holds the handle and the barrel together from the inside out. The OLS system’s one of a kind design keeps the bat feeling stiff, but does not allow vibration to reach the batter’s hands. Multi-variable wall construction gives the Cat 9 Connect a larger sweet spot than other aluminum bats, and a thinner more forgiving barrel. Ring Free barrel design gives the sweet spot more flex for increased performance and a barrel with no “dead zones”. The Marucci Cat 9 Connect, with its two-piece hybrid design, gives a feeling of a clean, consistent, traditional swinging and feeling baseball bat. Barrel and taper are inspired by professional models as well as input from MLB players on the Marucci Advisory Staff.
