The Marucci Cat 9 BBCOR bat is a one piece, space aged alloy aluminum bat with a ringless barrel. The barrel of the Cat 9 Marruci has a Multi-Variable Wall Design, that gives the bat a larger sweet spot than other bat brand’s aluminum bats. This is not an easy way to build a bat, but Marucci is no slouch and doesn’t take the easy way out. Along with the differing wall thicknesses in the barrel, the Cat 9 (BBCOR model only) also gets increased power and performance from the exclusive “Longitudinal Groove System”, a system of grooves across the thickest portion of the Cat 9 barrel wall. AZR Alloy is created with a special three stage thermal treatment process. The new AZR alloy gives the hitter a more responsive feel due to a change at the molecular level, giving the Cat 9’s alloy more performance and more durability than the previous model. Longitudinal Groove System – Marucci’s LGS a series of grooves that run horizontally over the thickest section of the barrel, reducing weight, adding flexibility, and increasing performance. Multi-variable wall construction gives the Cat 9 a larger sweet spot than other aluminum bats, and a thinner more forgiving barrel. 2nd Generation AV2 Knob is a 5 piece system unlike anything else on the market to help stop sting and vibration felt in the hands. This finely tuned design is harmonically tuned to prevent vibration from ever reaching your hands. Ring Free barrel design gives the sweet spot more flex for increased performance and a barrel with no “dead zones”. The Marucci Cat 9 with its one-piece alloy design gives a feeling of a clean, consistent, traditional swinging and feeling baseball bat.
